The first panel continues to drive the story arc, but it can also refer to the new art style that I used on this strip. Instead of tracing over my scanned sketch with the Bezier tool in Inkscape, I traced over my pencil sketch with an Extra Fine Sharpie on paper before scanning it in. It's a lot simpler process and gives the comic a more one-of-a-kind organic look while still maintaining an overall clean and simplistic look.

While pitching this strip to people, I had several complaints that it just didn't make sense where Mel was coming from with the lawsuit thing. While it's explained in the next strip, I'll just go ahead and tell you here. Mel is suing Hostess because he found a penis in his package of Twinkies.
