Kiwi birds are actually flightless, so it's not like Mel could just fly himself to Antarctica. Unfortunately, it seems that he ran into some trouble with homeland security.

Today's comic is inspired by Animals Have Problems Too, which is one of my favorite webcomics. Definitely go check it out. Kiwi birds have actually been featured on AHPT twice before, but neither time has commented on what I see as their biggest problem; their inability to fly.
